The advantages and disadvantages of film-chromic lenses and base-variable lenses
Jul 05, 2021
Color-changing lenses are becoming more and more popular among consumers in the market, but when choosing color-changing lenses, most people are at a loss when faced with various base change and film-changing lenses.
1. Ordinary base variable lens
Advantages: The color change agent is mixed into the monomer raw materials, and the entire lens is full of color change agent after production; the advantages are long color change time and high temperature resistance.
Disadvantage A: The color of the middle and the edge of the height lens will be a little bit different, because the edge thickness of the lens and the center thickness of the middle are completely different, so the color of the ordinary base variable lens will appear to be deviated. However, when the glasses are fitted, the middle part is processed and cut out. After a pair of finished glasses is processed, the problem of chromatic aberration will not be caused.
Disadvantage B: There are fewer discoloration product lines, mainly concentrated in the refractive index of 1.56 and 1.60.
2. Film color lens
Film change: The film color lens adopts film change technology, which completely subverts the previous base change technology. Compared with the base change, it has uniform and no background color; compared with the traditional film change, it is better than the immersion type, and the color change liquid and the hardening liquid are placed In different processes, it not only ensures the adhesion of the color change liquid, fully maintains its color change tension, but also exerts the hardening and fixing effect and strengthens the hardness. With the double-layer spin coating technology and hardening protection, the process quality is greatly improved.
Advantages: Discoloration is rapid, uniform, and will not be restricted by the material. No matter ordinary aspheric surface, 1.56, 1.61, 1.67, 1.74, etc. can be processed into film variable lenses, there are many varieties, and consumers have a lot of choice.
Disadvantages: The process is complicated.
Based on the above, the base change and the film color lens have no absolute advantages and disadvantages. Each has its own merits, medium and low powers, and low quality requirements in the color change time. Basic change lenses can be selected. The medium height number, the thickness of the lens, and the higher functionality The wearer can choose the film to change the lens.
