What is Polycarbonate?

Polycarbonate is a specific type of plastic. It was invented independently in 1953 by Dr. Hermann Schnell of Bayer and Dr. Daniel Fox of General Electric. Besides its use in eyeglass lenses, it is also used for car headlights, CDs and DVDs, and many other industrial applications. Polycarbonate is very strong, making it an excellent lens material.

• Safety

The Vision Council described polycarbonate lenses as “virtually unbreakable.” A study published in the Journal of the American Medical Association also found that polycarbonate lenses were more impact-resistant than glass or other types of plastic lenses. Using five types of projectiles including golf and tennis balls, the study found that polycarbonate lenses didn’t shatter, even at high impact.

• Weight and Thinness

One of greatest benefits of polycarbonate lenses is that they are often thinner than other types of lenses. This makes them ideal for people with strong prescriptions. Lighter, thinner eyeglasses are less likely to slip off your nose and are more comfortable for everyday wear.

• UV Protection

Extended exposure to ultraviolet (UV) radiation from the sun can cause damage to your eyes. This can include cataracts and macular degeneration, along with other eye problems. Luckily, polycarbonate lenses already block out harmful UV rays from the sun. And, unlike some other types of eyeglass lenses, they do not require any additional coating for sun protection.

Q1: Is your company a trading company or a factory?
A: We are professional optical lens factory. We are group company and focused on lens field more than 10 years since 2008.

Q2: What is the time of shipment?
A: It is depended on the order quantity and requirement. Normally, it will take around 7~15 days for 5000 pairs, 30 days for 30000 pairs. If normal stock lens with white envelope, we can finish in 3 days. Our daily production quantity is 15.000 Pairs lens, so we can ship out fresh lens in short time.

Q3: How do you control the lens quality?
A: We have 4 Quality Checking step to control quality.
Uncoated, Hard Coating, AR coating, every production step we have professional quality checking. Before shipment we have extra quality control.

Q4: Could you provide samples for customers checking the quality before they place the order?
A: Yes, of course. when you make the regular order we will return your samples cost. Detail can contact with our sales people.

Q5: What are your payment terms?
A: Our payment term is 30% deposit before production and balance payment before the shipment.
