The wavelength range of visible light is 380-780nm, which is composed of visible light such as red, yellow, and blue. The smaller the wavelength, the higher the energy. The wavelength of blue light is 400-500 nm. It is the shorter wavelength of visible light. Among them, the blue light in the wavelength range of 415-455nm has high energy, short wavelength, strong penetrating power, and potential harm to the retina, so it is called "harmful blue light". Blue light in the 455-500nm wavelength range can regulate biological rhythms, mood and memory, and play an important role in producing scotopic vision and affecting refractive development. It is also called "beneficial blue light". Therefore, the professional protection of anti-blue glasses is the protection against "harmful blue light".

Then we need to know which "harmful blue light" needs to be prevented. The harmful blue light in natural light does not need to be prevented, because the spectrum of natural light is continuous and will cancel each other out. At the same time, we don't need to stare directly at the sun, so blue light enters our eyes through various diffusion and reflections. The harmful blue light of electronic screens should be prevented mainly because of the high blue light content caused by different light emitting principles. At the same time, our eyes are directly staring at the luminous source, and the harmful blue light will penetrate directly. Long-term exposure to these blue lights can damage retinal cells, resulting in decreased vision, cataracts and other eye diseases.

In fact, don't worry too much about the harm of blue light, as long as you do a reasonable protection, you can take good care of your eyes. The current effective method is to wear anti-blue glasses. Some anti-blue glasses use "substrate absorption" technology, adding an anti-blue light factor to the lens to absorb the harmful blue light in life and achieve the protection purpose of blocking blue light. Some anti-blue glasses use "film reflection" technology, through the design of optical film software, coated with an anti-blue film on the glass surface to accurately reflect harmful blue light. However, the use of a single protection method has obvious shortcomings: a single "substrate absorption" has the problem of low blue light blocking rate, and a single "film reflection" film is easily damaged, which will lead to a decrease in protection performance.
